I have forgotten my pass lock number on my iPhone 4. How can I bypass this?

Actually, the passcode is used to unlock the iPhone. There is no passcode to turn on the iPhone.

To turn on the iPhone, press the power button.

The OP has turned on the iPhone and is now attempting to unlock it with the 4 digit passcode.

?? Do you not have to turn the phone on to get to the unlock screen?
