Q: Creativity; add stills in GoPro movie motorcycle travel

LS,

Last year I went on a motorcycle adventure through South America, from Buenos Aires - Argentina to Cartagena - Colombia. I attached an action camera on my handlebar so have very different sights of the surroundings (15000 KM -- jungle, desert, beach, mountains, snow, rain, etc) all from the same perspective (since it was attached on my handle bar). I found a soundtrack of Kid Rock, Born Free to use for it.

I also have lots of pictures of the trip that in combination will cover the essence of the experience.

I'm looking for a creative way to add stills (pictures) in my movie without loosing the speed and attention span..

Just adding them, or fading them in and out doesn't really give a good outcome. It makes the movie boring/has a downshift in speed.

Who has any ideas?

Thank you very much!!

You keep handlebar videos compelling (instead of forcing your audience to watch this grass grow or this paint dry) by telling a story that your audience cares about not by adding effects.

Try adding a freeze frame and a splashy colorful edge wipe to the still image. Use a hook in your purloined soundtrack to justify the transition to the still. Pop the still on full screen and then zoom it back. Use for or more stills in a split screen that changes to four splits of video. Move one forward to full screen. Open Motion to explore filters and transitions. Change the playback speed of the gopro clips. Build some tension in the narrative and then relieve it with a comical still image. Put the stills on a 3D map and zoom in or out of them to link the video clips to the locations.
