FileVault stuck

Greetings! I recently puchased a macbook pro retina 256 GB & during Migration from my old mac, turned on FileVault on my new mac. However, still seeing the following error: Encryption Paused: Connect Power Adapter to Resume Encryption. Power has been on for days and it just never completes and I can't turn it off either. Any ideas on how to to get the to complete? I have about 75 GB of free space. Thanks!

The warranty entitles you to complimentary phone support for the first 90 days of ownership.

If you bought the product in the U.S. directly from Apple (not from a reseller), you have 14 days from the date of delivery in which to exchange or return it for a refund. In other countries, the return policy may be different. If you bought from a reseller, its return policy applies.
