but some web detecting the User Browser Agent may set the look as a mobile phone.
you can download Google Chrome from App Store, it has a request for desktop version option.
but it's better to find an iPad and try for yourself.

Dec 9, 2014 2:27 PM in response to HS Art Teacherby rccharles,There are some web sites that incorporate technologies not supported by ios: activex, flash, and Java. All three have security issues. These can be classified as legacy tech and should be fading. Some of these limitation can be gotten around by using the puffin web browser. Best to try the ipad in a store with the site and see if it works.
You may be better off with the MacBook air. The ipad leans more to a document viewing device.
