Family sharing on a PC

How do I enable family sharing through the icloud from my PC? I have the newest version of itunes, but my ipod is too old to update to ios 8. Can I still partake in family sharing?

To be clear, the website says:

If the invitation is sent to your email address, you can respond right from your email. To accept an invitation, follow the onscreen instructions.

However, in the email I received inviting me to join my family's Family Sharing group, I click the 'Get Started' button (the only link in the email), and then I encounter the following: "To accept, open this invitation in the Mail app on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac, and click the Get Started button." [https://www.icloud.com/family_sharing/]

This leaves the customer to run in circles. Is there, or is there not, a way to join a group with your PC?

Sorry but this isn't clear. On the Apple website it clearly says:

Getting set up is simple.

You can use Family Sharing on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 8 or later, your Mac with OS X Yosemite or later and iTunes 12, or your PC with iCloud for Windows.

I would like to know how to sign on to family sharing using my PC. Thank you.

Hi akashley,

Family Sharing can not currently be started from a Windows computer. See this article -

Start or join a family group using Family Sharing - Apple Support

Specifically -

Set up Family Sharing

Use these steps in iOS 8:

  1. Go to Settings > iCloud.
  2. Tap Set Up Family Sharing, then tap Get Started.
  3. Confirm that you want to be the family organizer and that you're signed in with your personal Apple ID.
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions.

Use these steps in OS X Yosemite:

  1. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click iCloud.
  2. Click Set Up Family.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions.

After you set up Family Sharing, you can invite your family members to join.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

Best,

Hi akashley,

One way that you could join the Family Sharing group would be if the invitation for you to join is sent by email. If this is the case you can respond to the invitation directly from that email. See this article for reference -
