Facetime notifications in the Dock

FaceTime is showing a notification, but when I open the app, there is no indication of what the notification is for, or who may have called. Is there supposed to be a call history somewhere? I can't find it. It's an entirely redundant feature if you don't know who called!

Separate issue, but does anyone know how to fix the really fuzzy distorted text? It's painful to read - screen grab attached. It seems to be common across Yosemite.
