iPhone5 front cam locks up after upgrade to iOS 8.1.2

Just updated to iOS 8.1.2 on my iPhone 5... getting the same problem that people were reporting after the iOS7 update: front cam is either gray or black or fuzzy, and locks up the camera app when switching to the front cam.

Can't switch back to the main cam.

Can't take a pic.

All other controls seem fine. Can change to video, square, time lapse... still dead of course.
