Question

Upgraded to IOS 8 and restore to factory default and now get error trying to restore

I was told to restore Ipod Touch 5th G to Factory defaults to check mic problem. I performed backup which seemed to work fine and forced to install update to IOS 8. Did the Restore to factory default which seemed to work without a problem.

Now when I go to RESTORE from backup I get a message saying that backup failed "....backup session failed"

What do I do now? I copied the backup folder to my desktop as they suggested.

If I go to iTunes 12 it will show ipod with the name it previously had but still nothing.

iOS: If you can't back up or restore from a backup in iTunes

Next try restoring via iTunes again

I tried restoring a few times after the suggestions on link, still nothing. I was going to copy the backup file onto another Windows PC and see if I can restore from that?

I was able to restore the Ipod on different PC but it didn't restore the Apps and music that was on Ipod prior to all of this. I guess I will see what happens if I connect it back to original PC.

Synced mead like apps and music are not included int he iPod backup that iTunes makes. They are synced back tot he device from yur iTunes library. If they are not in the library then they can't be synced back.

You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
