Q: how to increase the system disk partition

i have powerbook g4  macos x version 10.5 i need to update my software to  10.8 

but the problems its the partition of mac os x is too small

    No PowerBook can run a Mac OS version higher than 10.5.8 because the PowerPC processor is no longer supported after that. Nothing you do to the partition or anything else--other than buying a newer Mac--can change that. You computer is upgraded as far as it can be.

    i mean 10.5.8 this what i need

    so how can i creat a big partition to do this updat :/

    OK, thank you for the clarification. Can you tell us what the current partition sizes are? That is a good place to start. It is possible that you already have an adequate partition available.

     

    Repartitioning requires erasing the entire hard drive and starting over. If you do not have original system install disks or, at least a full retail 10.5 install disk, it could prove close to impossible.
