Can't connect to app store or iTunes on my new iPhone 5s

I just got an iPhone 5s and set up was easy enough, but I can't connect to the app store or iTunes. Tried things suggested on this forum and the apple help guide but nothing has worked so far. Don't have any issues with internet connection.
