Q: Got married, new last name & country. Can't do Family sharing
I really just want to "Family Share" some apps with my hubby. Got married in October & have a new last name. I also now live in the US, where my hubby's from. But App Store won't let me share any apps, at least not with my maiden name & App Store purchases from my country of origin ("Country 1"). I'm told I can only "Family Share" with family members in the same country. OK, so I update my account with my new last name, new home address & contact info, new country, & use my new US credit card. I am finally able to set up Family Sharing. Yayz. New issues: I can"t update my old apps, App Store says this is because I purchased these from Country 1 App Store. This creates a seemingly infinite loop that takes me back & forth between the US App Store & Country 1 App Store, mentioning some issues about app availability. At the same time, since (I guess) I changed my credit card &/or name, none of my Country 1 purchases show up in Family Sharing. Which really defeats the purpose of using Family Sharing, doesn't it? I've considered creating a new Apple ID with all my new info, but this can only really work if I will be able to transfer my apps from my old account to my new 1. As of Sept. 2014, based on forum topics here, I think that is still not possible... If you have any advice/ideas on how I could share some apps with my hubby without having to buy these apps again, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
