Q: How can I disable the cursor from blinking on a global level (mac os x yosemite)?
I've already tried to enter several commands in the terminal, but they don't work on a global level, e.g.:
defaults write -g CursorBlink -string 0 (did not work)
defaults write -g NSTextInsertionPointBlinkPeriod -int 99999999 (doesn't really stop it. just sets the period to very high which only helps for Apple Pages and Keynote)
The blinking cursor in Safari and in the menu and everywhere else is driving me nuts.. Help!!!
MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

I've just tried the method in the link I posted previously. And the new settings seem to work in most places, but you have to log out and log in to make them work. Safari and Mail seem to be the only exceptions....
