Dec 12, 2014 5:59 AM in response to alainfromluxby King_Penguin,You can change the birthdate on an account by logging into the account via the 'manage your apple id' button on http://appleid.apple.com, selecting the 'Password And Security' section, and answering the two security questions - you should then be taken to a screen where you can change the date of birth.
But they will still be treated as adult accounts, and you may not be able to put their correct birthdates on them (depending upon how old they now are) - child accounts can only be created by the organiser of a family, you can't change an existing account to be a child account : Family Sharing and Apple IDs for kids.

Jan 22, 2015 9:49 AM in response to King_Penguinby Zarquon42,You can change an adult account to a child account by resetting the birthdate to 1/1/2001. However, I don't know how to then change it to the correct birthdate.

Apr 28, 2015 11:56 PM in response to King_Penguinby Christian Theussl,I could change the birthday associated with my "kids"-account by following https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204164
When it was not possible to have a kids account some years ago I created normal accounts for my kids and "made" them just 13 years old, the minimum age required. When Family sharing became available I became the organizer and added my wife's account. The kids account (being now "15 years" old, so still a kid) I added now. I logged into my kids account at "Manage my AppleID", set up and answered 2 security questions, and on the next page I changed the year of birth to the actual date. I as the family organizer received an email to approve this change.
Seems to have worked OK.

iTunesThey are effectively adult accounts, it's only with family sharing that accounts for under-13s can be created by the family organiser, and once created their dates of birth cannot be changed.

Apr 29, 2015 12:41 AM in response to King_Penguinby Christian Theussl,But it worked today!
My older kid was "15" in her AppleID, and part of my family account since last weekend. But today I could change her age back to 10. I had to approve it as an organizer.
My second kid had no year of birth associated with her AppleID (seems not to have been asked for when I created her AppleID (which was in 2007 or 2008)).
Today I added the year 2001 to have her 14 years old. I could not change it to 2007 as it was still a "normal" account. Than I added her account to family sharing. "She" accepted that invitation. Than I logged into her account via the AppleID website, went to the Security section, changed the year of birth to 2007. It asked for sending an e-mail for approval to the family organizer. I approved, and the year of birth was successfully changed to 2007.
It worked as described in the article "Update the birth date associated with your Apple ID" (last modified March 2015)

Apr 29, 2015 1:23 AM in response to Christian Theusslby King_Penguin,That link also says :
Be sure to enter your correct birthdate. After you change it to any age below 13, you will no longer be able to edit it.
Once it's a child account it cannot be changed.

Jul 17, 2015 5:36 AM in response to alainfromluxby atro,You are now able to change it by adding child (as adult) into your family sharing account, then go into MyAppleID for the child, change to correct birthdate, check confirmation email in your account and follow directions in email.
