can't download yosemite from snow leopard - get button does nothing

The Snow Leopard app store won't download Yosemite. The "Get" button turns grey but nothing happens. If i click out and come back to the Yosemite download page I can click "Get" again and it still does nothing. No network activity. No purchased apps showing up (this is the first time I've used the app store).

Imac 7.1, meets all requirements for Yosemite. Snow Leopard 10.6.8, all updates installed.

This is happening for others too. A reboot does nothing. Using the debug menu to reset the app does nothing.

Is there a fix?

iMac (24-inch Mid 2007), Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Where are you seeing a, "Get" button? I only see a, "Download" button.

I have exactly the same problem

using OS 10.6.8 I try to upgrade and received the same page as above (although in a dutch version) with only a download buttom which doesn't give any result after clicking

Try using one of the 2 links in the right sidebar. One under Categories and one under Free.

Try booting into the Safe Mode. If that doesn't work, set up another admin user account and try from there.

It seems to be a known issue.

I contacted Apple support and they were aware of this issue. It has been escalated to their engineering department. There appears to be a bug that needs fixing.

The support people were vague but said wait a few days and there might be an update to fix it.

I had the same issue. I would press the "Get" button and then the "Download" button nothing would happen. I contacted Apple Chat. They resolved the issue. After you press the "Download" button, you need to press "Purchase" button in the top bar of the window and it will download. Don't worry, it is free.
