Q: Are chargers covered under warranty?

My MacBook Pro is still under the 1 year warranty and the charger is realled frayed where it connects to the laptop. Do you recon this will be covered by the warranty?

Thanks

It will be covered by the same Warranty as the Macbook only if its determined to be a manufacturing defect.

WHAT IS COVERED BY THIS WARRANTY?

Apple Inc. of One Infinite Loop, Cupertino, California 95014, U.S.A. (“Apple”) warrants the Apple-branded hardware product and accessories contained in the original packaging (“Apple Product”) against defects in materials and workmanship when used normally in accordance with Apple's published guidelines for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the date of original retail purchase by the end-user purchaser ("Warranty Period"). Apple’s published guidelines include but are not limited to information contained in technical specifications, user manuals and service communications.

How did it get frayed?  Has it been mishandled in any way?

    Thanks for you help!

The rubber casing for the charger just split over time after use so the metal wires/cable are exposed which has meant they have frayed.

In that case, you'll need to take it in and have it examined by the Techs at an Apple Store to determine whether they will replace it under Manufacturing defect or not.
