Q: Why is the quality so bad??

"prints may appear slightly darker than on screen" is a massive understatement. Christmas cards that we ordered through iPhoto were no better quality than Walmart. Skin tones have a spray tan look and eye color is hard to distinguish. Unimpressed Apple!!!

Source material was around 5.5MB 2400x3000

Modified file shows 1.7MB at ~1800x2200

Output was to Flat Card, (4x6?) ... ordered 50 copies , which means that I was 50x disappointed in the results.

Just horrible.

Contact Apple at the contact address on your order confirmation

did you preview the card -

Before ordering your card preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered card will match it.

What is the color profile of the photos? sRGB is the best - people using Adobe RGB often are unhappy with the darkness of the prints and it is not recommende

I am using iPhoto 9.6 and a Control+Click only gives the following options when looking at a "Project" on the menu bar.

I am using "Color LCD" monitor profile.

And I no... Printing and "Saving as a PDF" results in a pallette that I would have been more than happy with... The PDF differs significantly from the actual print from Apple.

What do you mean by the color profile "of the photos"? isn't this something that Apple would have set? It sounds like I don't understand the question but if I am overlooking something I would love to understand.

Upon further Inspection, I was able to right click the word "Project" and get more options:

I can compare the "Preview", the "PDF" and the iPhoto project side by side... and I see little to no difference... and this differs WILDLY from the printing.

I can provide screen-shots of all of these if you would prefer?

Contact Apple at the phone number at the bottom of this page and explain the situation.   If the PDF file was good then there's been a problem in the printing process and Apple has been good at making things right.
