How do I shut off the voice at startup?

When I startup on my iMac with OS Yosemite this annoying voice reads all the text on the screen. I need it off, I have the power settings so the iMac powers up at 6:00 am so I can start work before going to the office and with that darn voice it sometimes wakes up my kids. Or on days that I'd sleep in that voice wakes me up. I have looked all over for a setting to shut the voice up, and it does not perform this function after I log in. Please help me.

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

Check your System Preferences "Accessibility" - do you have "Enable Voiceover" checked - if so turn it off
