Q: Vicious circle. Help!!!

I have been trying to install OS X to my new Mac but I keep getting the message "File system verify or repair failed". The only options I have are "Restart" and "Shut down". I always come to the same spot with the message. How can I go back? Can sb help

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013), iOS 8

    What version did you have before?

     

    If 10.7.0 or later...

     

    Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.

     

    You might have a failing hard drive.

    Just a crucial question before I do what you suggest: am I going to lose everything in the computer?? I had not saved them. If so, is it preferable to give it to the service expert in case he can save some of my files?

    Nothing is impossible, but this is unlikely to cause any loss that isn't already done, & possibly could save it, let's hear the outcome of your attempt.
