My USB Super Drive will not Play Red Box DVDs, Why?

Is this USB SuperDrive a third party drive or Apple's USB SuperDrive?

If this optical drive is Apple's own external USB SuperDrive, this only works with newer Macs that have no built-in optical drive any longer and WILL NOT work with older Macs that came with built-in optical drives.

Is the Red Box DVD a standard DVD or Blu-Ray DVD disc?

If you're talking about Redbox DVDs, from the DVD rental machines, you have to make sure that you're renting the standard DVDs. Your SuperDrive cannot play Blu-Ray DVDs.
