Hi,
Siri or voice input from the keyboard of my iPhone 6 can not hear me, but the recording does. When I plug in an external microphone, it reacts. I restarted it and have tried a reset (home button and off button), but it still does not work. I also have the latest iOS version 8.1.2 (12B440) on it.

I suggest you get your device serviced through Apple Support. This is either a software issue that Apple hasn't fixed yet or a hardware malfunction with the microphone for Siri and dictation. Weird thing is, for me, the non-Siri voice command works to some degree.
Through Apple support, I just mentioned Siri will not work and they somehow managed to change my case title to "Will not power off" which is boggling me now. So make sure to clarify there is an issue with the mic and Siri isn't working
