I cannot update Adobe Flashplayer on my MacBook v. 10.6.8.

For Michigan Mac's sake, I'll explain...

One can visit a thread from a forum list or from an email notice 'reply' link - and there will be reply or replies that do not display (Phantom) until one posts a reply to any post present - then Voila! - the missing post(s) magically appear. I have seen a thread where there were ±10 missing.

Indeed I know. Still sounds like an illness ... and with 10 missing posts it seems like it's catching. 😀

there are two symptoms of the illness known...

1. a thread is infected
2. it infects particular AppleID(s) -
   1. some AIDs are not infected
   2. infected AIDs can logout and visit infected thread as Guest with no ill effects

Try un-installing and then re-installing.
