Hi,
Well I am a newb so just trying out some ideas 🙂
1. Yes I have line out from the AMB going into the Scarlett. So i can monitor the audio as I am playing.
2. Ok, So I have to create the midi track...and put in MIDI data.
3. Then how do i check the midi/AMB trigger ? Will Logic automatically recognise the AMB ?
Right, you need MIDI data on the track, all that MIDI is, is a trigger, it's not sound. If you had the USB cable you could enter MIDI notes with the AMB keyboard, as it is you will have to enter using Logic's on screen keyboard or add notes to the piano roll with the pencil tool.
I would create an "External MIDI Track" and use that for getting some notes in. Once the external MIDI track is created you should see the Scarlett MIDI interface in the inspector to the left, as well as a place to set MIDI channel, leave it set to ALL for now. You can click on the piano roll notes and they will play, keep your volume down to start with.
Once you get a MIDI track of a performance you like you can recorded as an audio track or use the external Instrument plugin on an "Instrument Track".
(save that for later)
If you start with the basics first it's much easier to move forward. Things like learning the difference between an External MIDI, Software Instrument & Audio Track and how they interact are all discussed in the manual.
Since you're new at this you really should read the Getting Started section.
