15" MacBook Pro Retina Early 2013 GPU Panic

Started getting repeated kernel panics tonight. All GPU panics according to console. Tried the uncheck automatic graphics switching work around that's been discussed on here numerous times, but found that induced panic. What does the fact that not allowing automatic graphics switching induces panic tell me about what hardware issues I may have? Any possible workarounds? Just trying to get through finals week, then going to take it in for service.
