is there a certain step I have to go through to show the new downloads, which are showing up in my iTunes account on my Mac, on my Apple TV.

If you are referring to family sharing, that will need a 3rd gen Apple TV running 7.0 or later

Upgraded my AppleTV... Gen 3, revision A... Same problem exists.
Already know that part. I'm looking for her content, which has been downloaded on my Mac, to appear in Computers > My Library > Movies on my AppleTV.
Go to the iTunes settings on the Apple TV. Add her Apple id to yours. You can toggle back and forth to watch movies purchased on each id.
