Can others who dont have an icloud account upload photos/videos to you shared album

hi all

i am currently looking to use apples photo sharing system amongst my family and friends to allow everyone to share their photos from an event we all attended. Unfortunately not everyone uses or has an iCloud account. Therefore I was wondering can I add these people to the subscribers list via their alteration emails and will they be able to upload photos to the shared albums without creating an iCloud account? Thanks
