I shot a video using the camera on my iPhone 5S. I can't email it anywhere as it is too big, and when it is transferred to the Macbook it appears as a still photo. How can I get it transferred as a video?

You can either connect the iPhone to a USB port of your mac and download the video using iPhoto or Image Capture, or you can create a Shared Photo Stream and share the video to the Shared Photo Stream. On your Mac open the Shared Phote Stream in the iCloud section of iPhoto.
It is in iPhoto, in my photostream, but is showing as a photo, rather than a video. On my iPhone it is a video. What am I not doing?

My Photo Stream does not transfer videos, only the key frame of the video. You need to create a Shared Photo Stream, as described in this link: iCloud: iCloud Photo Sharing FAQ
Only Shared Photo Streams transfer video.
But connecting the iPhone to a USB port using the lightning adapter and simply launching iPhoto would be the quickest solution and the video would be transferred in the full resolution.
Thank you. I have just done that and it worked. I hadn't realised there was a difference between uploading via photo stream and doing so by plugging in the usb cable.
