I recorded a long video on my iphone 6 and i can't play it..whenever i hit the play button it says cannot open...however i have other videos and they work perfectly fine. It's only the long videos that are doing this HELP!!!

I'm encountering quite the same issue. Each time I record a video ( whatever the duration ) I can play only one on two.
I can see them all in the gallery but when I try to play the last one won't play but the previous one does and this loop for the third the fourth...
I tried soft reset and it's solving the issue but I have to do it each day.
A shame...

I have the same problem with my iPhone 6! I just recorded two longer videos and they are in my camera roll but both are completely white. When I try to tap on them to play a message pops up saying "Cannot Open". I have other videos and this has never happened before. Also I have more than 90 GB of storage left so I know that that is not the issue. This is very frustrating because I really want those videos!
I've got same issue too.
When I took a video with the iPhone(iPhone6, iOS8.1.2), it looks no problem.
But I can't play the video in default Photos.app.
I googled cases like this but I just found this thread.
Is this another iOS bug?
SO i went to the apple store the other day and they said there was nothing they could do to fix the problem. They told me to restart my phone but that didn't help either. Ugh I REALLY WANTED THOSE VIDEOS
I Figured out how to recover your videos. power off your phone. Then take out the SIM card. Turn phone back on. Then your videos should play. I'd load them to your computer before putting your SIM card back in. i just tried it and it worked for me. Had the same problem.
Well done Jokimchi this certainly does work, i've just tried it, it's so nice to be able to watch the videos that i wasn't able to watch before thankyou for posting this, i've noticed it was only yesterday too 🙂
Is there any way to do that on an iPad2 with out sim card?
I realize this is an iPhone forum, but I second your question on the iPad comment. I have an iPad Air 2 that's giving me fits left and right with long videos not playing. Mine us WiFi only....no SIM card. Any answers or something pointing in the right direction Spyker be fantastic. In the meantime, I'll head over to that forum...this is just where I ended up. Thanks!
Turn on Airplane mode on the iPad and then transfer the videos to your PC.
I have this problem recorded on slo mo but won't playback. Looks like its
streaming but nothing happens.
i tried to remove power off and remove sim to play videos but it didnt work. it appears its all videos that are from a certain date backwards do not play at all.
i notice when i tried to play it in icloud it does the same thing( just keeps thinking but doesnt play) , but it actually will play 1-2 seconds of it every 5 minutes it tries. so in 10 min of trying to play it. it will play 4 to 5 seconds of it....
I have the same problem. 3 videos show blank. although other videos recorded later the same day are fine. The sim card and turning on and off didn't work for me. 😟
I Have this problem to. One of my videos on March 16, 2016 won't play, it gives me the moving circle like it's going to wait and load which it doesn't. I checked and all my other videos on the same day work except for the one Please help !!!!
I think I found a solution ,,,,,,,, what happens is that phone erases all the fotos and videos and sends them icloud to optimize the storage.. so if u want them again u need to download them again ... go setting... and scroll down to camara and photo then change it to the option from optime iphone storage to download and keep originals.. and u need to download all your pic again =X
