Q: Is there a recommeded ink jet printer that works best with Yosemite?

I have a new iMac14 with Yosemite. I'm having all kinds of trouble getting it set up including getting my printer (Canon MX 512) to work as it should. Is there a
recommended ink jet printer to use with Yosemite?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

According to this, your Canon driver has been updated for Yosemite.
OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download - Apple Support

Try this:
Reset the printing system:
Mac OS X: How to reset the printing system - Apple Support

Now, re-Add the printer in Print & Scan prefs.
(resetting is one way to force use of new driver)
