Q: Help I cannot get my provider to unlock 2nd hand iphone

VODAFONE will not issue an unlock code for my iphone as they say a code was already issued. The code must have been issued to the previous owner who did not use it. I have tried for weeks to get them to respond but they just keep sending the same email over and over again saying they are unable to issue a code. I cannot get through by phone and they do not return call backs. This is made even worse by the fact i have paid £20 to them for the code. I have no signal on Vodafone so this iphone is now out of use. Does anyone know if Apple can help?

Apple will not get involved. Unlocking the phone is between you and the carrier. Does Vodafone in whatever country your in have stores? Have you tried going in and speaking to someone in person?

iPhones do not use a "code " for a start so clearly Vodafone are spinning you a line

For Vodafone to process the unlock you will need to an active customer on their UK network either as aPAYG or contract customers .
