Q: iwork 09 (numbers) keep crashing after installing 9.3 update on Macbook retina and Yosemite os.

I have tried clean install of OS X yosemite, on Macbook pro 12 Retina, Clean Install of iWork 09 from retail DVD. Everything work at this point but, all fonts texts and graphics appear in very low resolution.   As soon as I apply iWork 9.3 update, all appears in high res as it should.  But, now, when i try to print from Numbers, Numbers crashes.   It happens while printing to printer or creating a pdf.

please help.  it is really annoying and my livelihood depends on iWork 09 working.

    According to this:

About the iWork 9.3 Update - Apple Support

the only thing this update adds is support for iWork for  iOS devices - is that why you are wanting to install it?

And, since you installed from a DVD, did you try the stand alone installer here?

I installed the full version of iWork 09 from DVD.  Then, downloaded the iWork 9.3 update from apple.

The main reason for installing is that everything appears in low resolution on my macbook retina display until i install the 9.3 update.

I would like to use the newest version of Numbers but can't.   There is no page view like the 09 version.  big missing piece for me.   This why i need my iWork 09 working so, i can use all my templates that I spend last 5 years designing.  can't start from scratch.

Please help if you know how to fix this.

Are you sure you cannot use the current version of Numbers (V3.5) with a converted version of your old templates?

Here is a section from Numbers 3.5's help:
