Q: How can I create an child account for my girl using her existing Gmail account?? It won't let me use gmail and prompting me to use iCloud !! Help! How

trying to creeat are an account for my 11yrs old girl.. She has a gmail account. iCloud on family sharing is not letting me use gmail instead prompting to use iCloud Mail id.. Help plz

Hi Renrain,

 

I apologize, there appears to be a bit of confusion regarding creating a child account in Family Sharing. When you create a child account, it is created as a subset of your account (your email will be the rescue email for the account), and they are given an Apple ID in the format of (username@icloud.com), as outlined in the following article:
