ApplicationsI haven't heard of this before, but if the facts are as you say, it's pretty clear that the Cisco software interferes with cellular calling. In general, Cisco software is notorious for its intrusiveness, instability, and incompatibility.

Dec 19, 2014 3:34 AM in response to Linc Davisby Martin Crawley1,I uninstalled Jabber and it worked again as normal. This is odd as I've had Jabber installed for a year now and it definitely worked before. Oh well, more digging... Thanks.

May 26, 2015 8:27 AM in response to Martin Crawley1by chatzki,Go to Facetime preference and select Facetime as Default for calls. This will override settings of annoying Cisco Jabber.

Aug 4, 2015 9:50 AM in response to chatzkiby SiRuWi,I had the exact same issue, i.e. even when selecting to call using iPhone from Contacts, Cisco Jabber took over (#(/%R(/&#), but setting FaceTime as default solved it. Thanks!

Jan 19, 2016 8:48 AM in response to Martin Crawley1by smakie,Old thread but I use Cisco Jabber and the inverse was happening (or was a problem, for me). I use Cisco Jabber to place all of my phone calls through the Contacts app or from webpages/etc and after upgrading to El Cap noticed that Continuity was taking over, which was undesirable for me. No international plan on cellphone, have a nice Plantronics headset on my desk phone, etc.
It appears that prior to El Cap (not sure where/when) Jabber would act as the default protocol handler for SIP calls (as well as XMPP chats), but then after the OS upgrade, Continuity via cellphone and Messages took over for SIP and XMPP, respectively. I looked into this and it appears this behavior is dictated by ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.LaunchServices.plist. It's much easier to view and set this behavior manually using RCDefaultApp (http://www.rubicode.com/Software/RCDefaultApp/), if this is an issue for you.
Hope this helps!
