Dec 31, 2014 11:13 AM in response to aqmacielby ChitlinsCC,believe it or not, Apple has eyes (and ears) in ASC. If there is to be a fix for this issue in a subsequent version, it will be a fix, in the version, with no fanfare - not a workaround, which is what we have here from fosteraa's post.
Maybe with some added detail of your continuing travails, we can help... or perhaps fosteraa can tell us how he contacted the fine example of Apple's Support Specialists that he "talked to" - too techie for AppleCare methinks, but maybe not

Dec 31, 2014 11:29 AM in response to aqmacielby gp56,I have the identical issues as you on 3 devices and have tried everything you did with the same results. Was on a chat with Apple for an hour yesterday and nothing was resolved. Here is the kicker, if I add my wifes yahoo email to any of my devices it pushes fine! I add mine to her device, no push! I contacted Yahoo also but have not heard back from them.

Dec 31, 2014 1:13 PM in response to gp56by Skydiver119,If the issue was 100% apple's fault then everyone with yahoo would be having issues. Since it's only some accounts my guess is that yahoo has changed something on some of their servers, making them incompatible with the apple mail app. (yahoo is perpetually futzing with their mail and servers)
If Yahoo has indeed messed something up, either they will fix it, or they'll keep rolling the change out.. Either way, there will likely be no announcement, no acknowledgement, just presto chango it's working now.

Dec 31, 2014 1:24 PM in response to Skydiver119by aqmaciel,But the issue began after last iOS update. Before it, pushing mails from Yahoo was working flawless.
So, obviously the update brought something to the app that, indeed, in some cases, make the push function not work properly.
At last, if you disable push for Yahoo mail and enable it again, the push will work immediately. Unfortunately the problem will persist after push function works once.

Dec 31, 2014 1:45 PM in response to aqmacielby Skydiver119,Users, unfortunately, get caught in the middle of corporate policies. Apple makes iOS...and any companies or services or app developers that want theri stuff on an iOS device needs to make their service compliant with what Apple tells them to be compliant with.
In other words, if an iOS update breaks an app, then the app developer needs to fix their app to work with iOS. If Apple changed something with how Yahoo push works, then Yahoo push needs to alter their programming to work with iOS.
Users usually end up finding work arounds until the big guys decide to change things...if they do.

Dec 31, 2014 2:07 PM in response to Skydiver119by aqmaciel,Sorry but the app was developed by Apple. We're not talking about the Yahoo app. It's the native mail one. So, the company has to fix what was working good.
Furthermore, I've simply disabled push and set the app to search mails from time to time.

Dec 31, 2014 2:11 PM in response to isschnyyby ASCarlisle,I'd recommend going into the App Store and downloading Yahoo's app for email and logging in with your credentials. I saw this issue a couple of weeks ago, and whilst I wasn't able to get the account working again in the Apple Mail App, the Yahoo mail app worked perfectly. Happy New Year!

Dec 31, 2014 2:24 PM in response to aqmacielby ChitlinsCC,Sorry aqmaciel... but it still is not the Apple Mail App according to the previous posters' problem. This post solved both the poster's and the OP's issue

Re: Since iOS 8.1.2 My Yahoo mail has stopped working, any help please, but don't get too technical in response to isschnyyHere's what I found after talking with Apple support - somewhere in your inbox is a message that has a corrupt header. When you go to sync via iOS mail, it gets to that header and bombs. SNIP
As you can see, this is different than your PUSH issue. This is clearly a YMail issue as evidenced by the fix happening entirely at the YMail website.
I recommend that you start a new thread, explaining your issue in detail and see where that goes.

Dec 31, 2014 2:32 PM in response to ChitlinsCCby aqmaciel,If what you say were true, the previous version of the iOS would present the same problem and we know it didn't.
Also, I've followed those instructions and it didn't fix the push issue. And, to be more specific, if you disable and enable push function for Yahoo mail, the mail app will push messages just one time.
So, do you mean that the way the app deals with the messages in the inbox is Yahoo's fault? Honestly, I don't see that way. If the problem was in the Yahoo box the push service wouldn't even work, not even one single time after disabling and re-enabling the function.

[1] How do "... we know it didn't." ?? I am not inclined to provide evidence of previous issues, as I am not making the claim.
[2] You have followed instructions to fix a problem that is NOT the problem you are having. Your problem is the PUSH issue, not experienced by the OP nor by fosteraa who ran down the fix for their issue.
[3] If indeed there is a widespread PUSH issue, as Skydiver has said, Apple and Yahoo will work it out and the fix will appear in a version release, not as a workaround provided for a rare issue.
How many folks can you count that have the corrupt header issue? I see the OP, isschnyy, wallyyoung, enosmac, and the fixer fosteraa in this thread. As I said I am unwilling to defend something that 4 out of Bazillions of iOS users are experiencing, I rest my case

Dec 31, 2014 3:11 PM in response to ChitlinsCCby aqmaciel,One more. And I commented on that subject because it was brought to the thread.
Anyway, it's funny how the iOS user who speaks bluntly has to take care not to scratch Apple's image. Sorry for ofending the goddess Apple but it's just another phone manufacturer that, YES, makes mistakes.
At last, I'll leave it that way as my other device (android phone) works properly. Sorry to bother you and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Dec 31, 2014 11:33 PM in response to isschnyyby gloopngleep,I am having the same issue with my iPhone6. Since updating to 8.1.2, my mail (Yahoo account) will no longer push, and will barely even fetch. I get email hours and hours after it's been sent (I've done a number of tests from both Windows and Mac, and to various computers and devices, including iPad2... only my spanking new expensive iPhone6 seems affected). Coincidentally, I've also had quite a few problems with iMessage and text messages not being sent or received. I've restarted my phone, deleted my Yahoo account and re-entered it several times, and today did a full factory reset. Nothing. No change. I've tried most of the "solutions" I've found online, still not working. I guess I'm going to the Apple store on Friday, and hope they can resolve this.

the original post does not mention a problem with Push - turns out a corrupt header caused Mail to crash. There indeed are others posting in this unrelated thread about a Push issue, but, alas, it is the wrong thread.
It appears that Yahoo mail is not 100% reliable - I have yMail and REGULARLY get mail retrieval failures, sometimes for hours at a time.
See:
Yahoo Mail Push Notification stopped working today OR
Is Yahoo Mail push working for anyone today?
Our friend aqmaciel (above) has pointed us to a current thread - I am not sure why, as it consists only of the Question with no replies
There is a locked 'dinosaur' thread from 2008 that indicates we all have had Yahoo Mail - Yahoo Side - issues to some degree of frequency
Yahoo! Push email has stopped working
and yet another from 2009
I would recommend joining one of the 3 unlocked threads above, or starting your own <(this last might help get attention from Apple developers who lurk but do NOT participate

How/where did you get this information? Apple Engineers do not monitor these forums (they would be the ones who develop, test, and release OS versions and components). Other software developers may or may not; however, they do not work for Apple.
@ gloopngleep:
Your best bet to get Apple's attention is to either file feedback:
http://www.apple.com/feedback/
or a bug report if you are registered as a developer:
https://developer.apple.com/resources/
(unfortunately, their burg reporting site doesn't seem to be accessible at the moment)
