Yosemite doesn't detect my UPS

I have an APC BR900 GI UPS - but it;s not detected in the Energy Saver preferences. I'm running an iMac 27" with 32 gig and the 3 TB fusion drive.

I did a PRAM reset which made no difference - and there's no power icon in the top menu bar. All worked perfectly on Mavericks.

Any advice/help will be gratefully received!

I have the same problem. Not difference between direct connection USB cable of my UPS (SVEN Pro 1000+) to USB3 port Mac Pro Late 2013 or USB2 port Thunderbolt Display or USB3 port ORICO 7ports USB hub connected to USB3 port Mac Pro. I never seen UPS icon at Save energy settings when upgrade from Mavericks to Yosemite.

Inside About this Mac detailed report USB section I can see my UPS as STD UPS MON V1.0.

NUT drivers and Upsilon monitor for Mac OS (under Darwin) in Terminal window also can't detect UPS.

At the same time in Windows 8 under Parallels 10 for Yosemite (works as virtual machine at external USB 3 disk drive) I can run Upsilon utility for UPS and can see all UPS parameters after "I say" Parallels to connect UPS to Windows 8 virtual machine instead of Mac.

My wife's MacBook Pro (late 2014 16 gig core i7 512 Gb flash) has the same symptoms.

I'd like to hear any ideas and recommendation.

Best regards.

Had a long conversation on Apple support chat. 'Rob' covered a lot of ground, eventually said that it appears that this is a common problem on all but laptops (my Mackbook Pro detects the UPC) and that it's to do with the architecture of the 'plugged' models. I should report it to Apple engineers and also to APC, who are probably aware of the problem. APC say there is no such problem that they are aware of and that there are no updates in the offing. So where do we go from here, I wonder. I did think about reinstalling OSX but I'm also running a Parallels Windows 7 installation and though I don't use it frequently, I can't afford to lose it.

Any ideas anybody has would be most welcome!
