dvd region lockout on superdrive

Hello Apple

Is there any way to unlock a superdrive that has been locked due to changing the region settings more than 5 times.

Hi bedwell 1,

The region code of Apple's DVD player hardware may only be reset a maximum of 5 times. After the fifth, the setting becomes permanent. See this article for further information -

Thank you for your reply i feard that may be the outcome, my son moved to Australia and had been playing discs from England and from in Oz he is now stuck with the UK region on his mac, cant be helped but you think they would be a warning some how..
