Q: Can I improve signal with interior wifi extender?

I am moving into a concrete block home with a metal roof. I am planning on purchasing a wi-fi extender to make sure my streaming device works properly from the wireless modem/router.  I get one bar of signal in one part of the home now and none elsewhere. Can the wi-fi extender be used to increase cell phone reception? Really do not want to purchase a repeater if the wi-fi extender works. Repeaters are expensive and as  65 yr old woman I can't see myself climbing a ladder to install an outside antenna on the roof!!  Thanks for any help. I have an iPhone 5C through nTelos.

A wifi extender will have no effect on your cell phone signal; it will just extend your home wifi connection to other parts of the house.

If you get poor/weak signal in your house, contact your carrier to see if they have anything you can use. In the US, AT&T offers a device that can be hooked up inside the home that will boost the signal.
