Contact notes missing on iPhone 6 but appear in iCloud address book?

This has been driving me crazy for a while now and the search is on.

I have my own personal notes in my address book in the notes section of my own contact. This used to work absolutely fine but since IOS 8 all my note information appears in the address book in the iCloud but does not appear in the notes in my address book on my iPhone 6.

Why is it not syncing I regularly sync my iPhone 6 to iTunes.

This is driving me mad.

Can anyone help?
