Iphone 6 stays in 3G

I traded in my iphone 5 for an iphone 6. My new iphone 6 remains in 3G. I have tried everything - called apple support, called Verizon tech support, exchanged the phone and sim card, and tried all the network reset options. It will stays in 3G..specifically at my house and work. My old iphone 5 connected to LTE no problem in these same places. It is very frustrating..isn't an iphone 6 supposed to be better than a 5? Why wont it connect to LTE in the same areas that my old iphone 6 would connect? Can anyone help

I hate to ask the obvious, but do you have LTE turned on for the phone? With the iPhone 6, the settings are a little different. Where did you exchange the phone at? Has Verizon verified your account is provisioned for LTE? What does Verizon say if you are at their place and the device does not connect to LTE?

Yes, LTE is turned on. I called Verizon tech support, they mailed me the replacement phone. Verizon has verified my account is set up for LTE. When I am at the Verizon store it connects to LTE. My phone will connect to LTE occasionally. My frustration is that the phone will not connect at my house or at work when my old iphone 5 would connect at these same places

It is very possible there are LTE problems in those places, then again, the LTE signal may also be weak there. If both devices would not connect, maybe you have someone with the same phone and carrier and you can see if their phones connect? If you are connecting at Verizon, then the phone is working.
