iMovie 10x does not see still photos in iPhoto

Jason, Please forgive me for taking so long to reply. I was unable to address your response until now. Thank you for this helpful reference. I loaded iMovie 10 when I received notice of it and since then I have been unable to create events in iPhoto alone. However, some of the events I created but do not see in iPhoto now show in iMovie 10's tab for iPhoto. There must be some new integration but I am concerned that all the photo events I created are not there and some photos seem to be missing from some of the events that are there. I did rebuild my iPhoto library but I am going to do it again. Thanks to you I have the instructions to use. Blessings, Brian
