Feb 20, 2015 12:00 PM in response to HamiltonOrganistby hindmost,I've hit this problem today.
Solution which worked for me was to clear file system cache
in Terminal
rm ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.itunes/fsCachedData/*
In Finder go to home directory then from the view menu choose show view options [cmd-j] Select the show Library Folder and then navigate to Caches/com.apple.itunes/fsCachedData Select all and delete.
Using finder is a bit more of a hassle but it gives you a get out of jail free card if removing all the cached data causes a major breakage.

Mar 16, 2015 3:23 AM in response to HamiltonOrganistby plakat,This problem vexes me for quite some time now. Unfortunately none of the solutions described so far resolved that for me. Meanwhile I resorted to using an external program to rip and automatically import CDs. I'm using Phile Audio (I'm in no way affiliated with the product or its creator), which also pulls the title and artist information from the web, but I have to add album covers manually. Overall still better than having to type in all info in iTunes...

Mar 20, 2015 6:59 AM in response to plakatby coccinelle_123,Hi, the problem with not-getting-titles-from-DB has really been bugging me. But now it's working again - I think it was the cache that caused the problems. Thanks for all the ideas here!

May 31, 2015 2:58 PM in response to Michael Shurkinby David 5b0,I have a MBP with Win7 and OSX. The Mac side will not find most CD info, while the Windows side finds the info just fine. I hope the good people at Apple will read these comments and fix this annoyance and failure in a future update to the software. Anytime a Windows OS beats an Apple OS, I think Apple should step up and take notice.

Jun 2, 2015 6:10 PM in response to David 5b0by JustWantApple2Work,I've had the same problem described by everyone on this thread, for many months now. Apple's "Support" utterly non-existent. Here's my work-around:
Step one: Turn on the radio
Step two: Hope that it plays something I like.
...Yes, I'm back to the technology of the 1930s. Thanks, Apple-- you've certainly got me to "Think Different."

Aug 15, 2015 10:45 AM in response to JustWantApple2Workby martin999a,This has been happening since December 2014 (iTunes 12.0) and it's now August 2015 and it's still happening on 12.2. This isn't good enough Apple. Get your f*cking fingers out!

Dec 16, 2015 3:48 AM in response to freudigerregtby oerpet69,This worked for me. I pretty much deleted all the cache and playlist in the Library. Then I got a request to agree to the iTunes rules again. No it runs fine.

Dec 20, 2015 1:16 PM in response to oerpet69by Damon Schreiber,I'll add my 2 cents since I was battling this problem and fixed it today. I don't believe that reinstalling iTunes has any particular effect. I think the key that makes some people believe so is that when you install iTunes, you are asked to restart your Mac. It's the restarting that's important.
Here's what finally fixed it for me:
- I went to the user library as directed above (Finder > Option key+Go menu >Library).
- I searched for iTunes in Preferences and deleted everything.
- I also deleted "CD Info.cidb" in the same folder.
- I also deleted iTunes files in Cache.
- Then I restarted and boom, track names were found for the CD I inserted.
I'm not sure which of the files I deleted was the problem, but I had previously done so without restarting and nothing was fixed. After restarting I was asked to accept the licence agreement and iTunes didn't immediately find my iTunes library which I keep in a non-standard location. This indicates that the preferences were truly unlinked, which I don't believe they are simply by moving them to the trash without restarting.

Dec 31, 2015 4:47 PM in response to HamiltonOrganistby offroad99,I've been frustrated with this as well and finally got this fixed and it was pretty easy after all. Steps I took:
- Close iTunes
- open terminal (or do it some other way)
- cd ~/Library/Preferences
- mv com.apple.iTunes.plist ~/com.apple.iTunes.plist.bak
- Launch iTunes
On launch after step 5, it asked me to accept an end user agreement and then it just worked with the CD that was already inserted. Yay!!!!!!!

May 17, 2016 10:04 AM in response to freudigerregtby Wannes Morris,No CDDB Preferences anymore.
In my case it was the com.apple.iTunes.Gracenote.plist that caused the problem. I deleted it & restarted iTunes -> OK
