iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Next try restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Dec 20, 2014 3:01 PM in response to lllaassby AnAppleNewbie,I have tried literally everything. This was an iPod that i got off a friend, so its out of warranty. I hadn't expected this to happen, so I did not make a restore point until right after the most important things (app store, Safari, iTunes, FaceTime, etc, were gone) I reset the iPod completely, to factory settings, which then deleted absolutely everything. I used this restore point, and now I can access a few apps, like videos, iBooks, Settings, but no way to get back the aforementioned apps back. i already had 8.1.2.

Dec 20, 2014 3:05 PM in response to AnAppleNewbieby AnAppleNewbie,Also, i've tried multiple times to factory reset it completely, with the only difference being that its completely blank and the only things i can access is Stocks. Restoring it with my oldest backup brings my iPod name, reminders. It can also bring Videos, iBooks, Settings, Tips, as i said before. But i did forget to say the way to get them is sliding down from the middle of my screen so a search bar comes up, and searching for them. Settings is not available there, the way i access that is double pressing my home button.

Dec 21, 2014 2:11 AM in response to AnAppleNewbieby lllaass,If you successfully restored (went through all steps without error) to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.
Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store..

Dec 21, 2014 9:50 AM in response to lllaassby AnAppleNewbie,Unfortunately i can't really go anywhere to fix it. I would rather do something at home, getting help online, and the Genius Bar will probably cost too much anyways. Thank you for your time.

Dec 21, 2014 10:13 AM in response to AnAppleNewbieby lllaass,The Genius Bar appointment is free.
There is nothing you can do.

Dec 22, 2014 9:05 PM in response to lllaassby AnAppleNewbie,Since i bought this off a friend, it's out of warranty. It will not be free to get the repairs done, even if the appointment itself is.

Jan 2, 2015 10:19 PM in response to AnAppleNewbieby AnAppleNewbie,I was wondering if this would work. I get someone to backup their iPod to iCloud or to their PC, and then I use their restore point restore my own iDevice. Do you think this has any chance of working? The only problem there is with this potential solution is that I have no one to rely on giving me a restore point. Maybe Apple can give me a pre-set one that has no apps downloaded from the app store, nothing purchased. Just the base basics of an Apple device.
On this note, I was trying to figure out how to contact Apple purely through E-mail or instant messaging, no sort of phone calling or meeting in person, which I personally would discount. If they can E-mail me for example a file that I can use as a restore point, that would be great. If there is a way for us to E-mail, can anyone tell me please?
