Q: Bootcamp corrupted after Yosemite upgrade.
I haven't used the partition in a while and wanted to recover the hard drive space and make the macintosh disk one again.
However I encountered similar issues as Bootcamp gone haywire after Yosemite update. I treid following some of the other threads, but apparently and according to

my problems are a bit different? I don't have an R.NTFS in the first line. I don't understand much about this, but all I want to do is add those gb back to my
OSX partition, I don't care for the data on windows. Can anybody help me?

My question for you regarding a pending update from 10.9 to 10.10. Does it make a difference that my BootCamp installation resides on a separate drive as opposed to a partition on the OSX drive? I'm running 10.9.5 on an internal SSD and 8.1 on a separate internal SSD on a Mac Pro (4,1)
You are in the safest configuration possible, due to physical separation of the two disks. A key factor which seems to impact most users is the use of resizing tools to BC/Windows partition, which usually results in an out-of-sync condition between two different disk partitioning models, aka GPT and MBR types. There is a very lucid and succinct explanation at http://www.rodsbooks.com/gdisk/hybrid.html .
Apple's use of this Hybrid MBR (and a CSM-BIOS emulation layer) is a bit easier from a creation perspective, but is not amenable to resizing and Apple documents it as well. For example, from Boot Camp 5.1: Frequently asked questions - Apple Support
Can I resize the Windows partition after installing Windows?
No. Back up your important files, then use Boot Camp Assistant to delete the old partition and create a new one.
Older Macs do not support a UEFI models, and Apple has used a pre-UEFI version, EFI 1.1, while W8+ is the first fully compliant UEFI Windows OS. W7 has some support, but the area of drivers has its challenges.
Or should I wait for Apple to address this issue before upgrading?
As longs as you have not tried to resize your Windows partition which is on the same drive as OSX, it is unlikely that you will run into an issue.
You have another advantage. You can create a new installation of Yosemite on your OSX SSD, without any changes to your Windows side and test Yosemite to validate it for your specific needs. You do not need to rollback, as you can switch back to Mavericks, from the same disk. Windows remains untouched in this exercise.
I suggest you keep Mavericks around. Please make backups of all your OSes and data, before you take a plunge into Yosemite.
Merry Christmas!
Yo! Ho! Ho! Merry Xmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year to you and yours.
