How to put 3 videos side by side?

I'm trying to make it so that on one half of the screen is one video and the other half of the screen is split by 2 videos, one on top of the other. How do I do this? Please help!

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013)

in iMovie, you can create only one Pic-in-pic effect per clip.

So, you do have to create in a step#1 your first pip, export that, import that, apply your 2nd pip...
