Hi, i want to remove ringtone created using garageband. Ny problem is that I created that ringtone, then I deleted the GarageBand app since I didn't think i need it anymore, just wanted to try it. Then I found that that ringtone still stuck on my phone. I have downloaded the app back to find the old ringtone and remove it the way you guys advice but couldn't find it. Any suggestions or advice would be great, thanks in advance.

Hey Vicky,

Congratulations on getting your new iPhone. I'm sure it's a bit confusing to be stuck with some ringtones duplicated, but it is possible to remove them. This article explains how -

How to delete content you've downloaded from the iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, or Mac App Store - Apple Support

In particular -

Ringtones/Tones

iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

You can't delete purchased ringtones or tones directly from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. But you can delete them by syncing to a computer with iTunes, then following the instructions for Mac or PC below.

And -

Mac or PC

If you delete a ringtone or tone from iTunes, you'll have to pay again to download it from the iTunes Store. Just to be safe, back it up somewhere on your computer.

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. From the Library pop-up menu, choose Tones.
  3. Click the ringtone or tone you want to delete.
  4. Press Delete on your keyboard.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I hope your hair survives,

I know I'm late but to delete ringtones created with GarageBand on iPhone on iOS 8/9 follow those steps:

- Open GarageBand on iPhone

- Tap on Select/Edit button on the top right corner

- Select any track

- Tap on Share button on the top left corner

- Tap on Ringtone button to open "Export ringtone" window

- Tap on bolded text "Ringtone" on the bottom

- Now swipe to delete on any ringtones you don't want anymore

Good luck!

Andrea
