iTunes keeps launching randomly and starting

Hi,

Ever since I updated to Yosemite iTunes keeps launching randomly. It will also start to play songs at random. I have a thought that it may be occurring when I am using Apple TV, but I can't duplicate the error. Anyone ever come across this? Thanks!

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2010), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1), 2TB Mirror Back-up Drive

Hi claypool fan,

Happy Holidays! I think I understand what is happening. The Apple Remote you are using for the Apple TV may be affecting your Mac as well.

The Apple Remote operates on an infrared (IR)-based transmitter.

If you do not want your IR-capable Mac to respond to an Apple Remote, you can disable the IR receiver in Security preferences.

To turn IR on or off:

  • Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Security, and then click General.

    1. Select “Disable remote control infrared receiver” to turn off IR reception
