If your Apple TV is not able to connect to Wi-Fi networks, restarting the device was a good first step. You can find additional troubleshooting steps in this guide:

Try ethernet
Check istumbler, netstumbler or similar to to get a network report. Look for signal strength, noise and nearby networks detected.
