So I've had my mac for almost a year and updated to Yosemite and I've been using iPhoto everyday yet today all of my pictures got duplicated PLEASE help i don't want to erase the wrong files. Ive also downloaded a duplicated finder app but the app didn't find any!!!!
Where are you seeing these duplicates? Exactly what did you do in upgrading?

All the duplicate are in iphoto. I upgraded from mavrick to Yosemite but this just stated happening even old pictures duplicated
What Larry is asking is do you see the duplicates from the iPhoto screen, or when you look at the iPhoto Library using the Finder?
Sorry if I wasn't clear I'm new to this.... I didn't look up any of the pictures on finder yet. But when I open iphoto all my pictures are duplicated hope that was a better answe. I did run iPhoto duplicator but I got no results

What iPhoto version were you using before upgrading to Yosemite? How did you upgrade your iPhoto Library from that version to Yosemite's iPhoto version which is 9.6?
Key question is exactly what you did duing the upgrade - it sounds like you did not just upgrade but for some reason imported your old library into a new version - exactly what did you do
As a Note NEVER import an iPhoto library - it does not work and creates a massive mess

I Updated from Marvrick to Yosemite the day it was relased and everything was normal I didn't do anything to iphoto I've continued to use it normally and had no duplicates until yesterday now all my photos are doubled.
What unusual happened today or yesterday? What has changed? Have you restarted your Mac?
Remember we can no see your computer and only know wha tyo tell su - as you see on these one else no one else has ever reported iPhoto "spontaneously" duplicating photos - something external to iPhoto has to cause it - only you can report what is going on there

Did you drag anything onto the iPhoto icon in the dock?

You can try to rebuild your library. Make sure you have a backup!
