    Welcome to Apple Support Communities

iWeb was discontinued some years ago, so you cannot use it to create a web with MobileMe (it was also replaced by iCloud). As it is an old application, I recommend you to look for a different application which offers better compatibility with Yosemite.

In fact you can still use iWeb with different providers to create your own website, but the problem is that we do not know when iWeb will stop working completely. For other applications, have a look at this article -> http://www.macworld.com/article/1163747/life_after_iweb_the_state_of_web_design_ on_the_mac.html

Okay, so what you need to understand here is that iWeb is an old application now and Apple stopped both selling and supporting it at least 2 years ago.

It is correct that at present, you can still use iWeb, but to work with Yosemite, you will need iWeb 09, as both iWeb 08 and 06 are not compatible with Yosemite.

It is ridiculous now to contemplate building a new website using iWeb - you should look at other software that is current and being actively developed, which iWeb is not.

Firstly, look at EverWeb.  This is very similar to iWeb and is very like iWeb in both layout and use, so it would be the easiest.  It is actively developed by Rage Software and it has the lowest learning curve to be able to use it as it is so similar to iWeb.  You can also purchase hosting from either Rage or get your own hosting and publish the site there.

Also, take a look at RapidWeaver, Sandvox, Freeway Pro/Express 7, WebAcappella 4, Flux V and Macaw.  These are all good alternatives, but some have a steeper learning curve, such as Flux V, which does require some knowledge of both html and css.

If you are starting up a new website from scratch, don't use iWeb.  You might have it, but it is not the right time to start creating a new site with an unsupported product.
