Q: what is going on with my computer on start up?

So I opened my MB air and looked at the memory ssd and removed it, I unplugged the battery first I always do. But ever since I did that, which I have done before, I am unable to turn on my computer. I contantly get this message popup "please excuse the dust and finger prints on the screen lol"

It'll just show me this message not long enough to even read the first line of text so I had to take a pic of it. And timing it was a ***** because it constantly resets. Shows the same page and then resets, will not stop just repeats. The SSD is in fine I made sure 3 times and the battery is obviously plugged in. What could I have done wrong to cause this?

It's a mid 2013 MB air 13 inch, 256 SSD memory and 4gb of ram.

I guess it's possible I ruined the SSD memory chip?

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! I need this baby back up and running I use it for business sometimes and it has files that I haven't had a chance to backup yet.

Thank you,

Jon

Forgot image lol, apologies. Here it is. Did I ruin the memory in same way? I noticed it says "CoreStorageFsck: LVG on dlsk0s2 is damaged and mounted read-only" and a few other things. I'll let you, who knows better than I, read it. Please lol.!

    Thanks,

    Jon

Also, my keyboard is pretty much not working, it constantly types in caps, and the green like on the caps lock button is not on. If I press the caps lock button the green light still does not come on, and when I press the button and then press a key such as a number, it only posts the character for the corresponding number. not the number.

    I am so confused!!!!

Can you boot into the recovery partition (COMMAND+R)?

If so select Disk Utility from the 4 option menu and Verify and  Repair the SSD via DU>First Aid.

    Ciao.

If you cannot use COMMAND+R to boot into the recoveyr partition, see if a SMC and PRAM reset followed by Safe Boot helps:

If no success, if available, use another Mac and use target disk more to access the HDD in your MBP:

fantastic, that did it, however apparently I have forgotten my password to login. whenever I click on forgot password, allowing to me login via my Apple ID

However, whenever I try that it brings up that code page I posted earlier and restarts my computer and then brings me right back to the login area.

    Thank you,

    Jon

So something is wrong with my keyboard, and mouse, seems something is wrong with all interactions. Everything types in CAPS locks, the cops lock light wont even come on. I checked the shift keys to see if they were stuck but they are not stuck at all.

    No keys are stuck.

I am able to connect a different keyboard and it works perfectly. Which leads me to believe something is wrong with the keyboard and mouse on my MB air.

Because if I click on a desktop file, image, folder etc and then click on a blank space on my desktop is should clear that highlight on the file, image, folder etc that I just clicked on but it does not and if I click on another file or anything else on my desktop it highlights that icon as well.

I cannot right click, and I cannot get rid of these highlighted icons on my desktop and worst of all this is my fav mac due to it's portability and capability.

I also have a 21.5 and a 27 but I love my MB are. I use the bigger ones for designing, coding etc. But I want my air back :/

    Please help.

    Thank you,

    Jon

Backup all of your important data on the MBA.

I then would erase and reinstall the OSX.  That should eliminate the 'highlighting' problems that you are experiencing.

If the keyboard problem is not resolved, then you are going to have to make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar.

    Ciao.
