Internal screen crack, 2006 27", no warranty- cost?

I bought it at an auction; the old user's warranty ran out a long time ago. I was recently cleaning, and when I went to put it back on my desk it fell on my knee. The way the screen works, the crack isn't felt on the outside. I can obviously see it- but it's internal.

There's a huge black hole in the center shaped like Texas and the cracks run out from that spot, creating lots of red and blue lines. It's obviously f*cked, so I'm wondering what the estimate is on out of pocket cost. I heard that you can also get a cheap screen, and plug it in to redirect the image to the new monitor.
